Musings from a foodie…
If you’re in the Greater Phoenix area and have a hankering for Mexican/Southwest cookin’ I’d recommend a short trip over to the Camelback East area for lunch or dinner at Richardson’s Dinner – Home of the Original Green Chile Potato! You can start with a choice of Botanas (Starters), and I’d recommend the Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos or Crispy Fried Calamari with Sweet Chile Sauce – accompanied, of course, with Ice Tea and sweetener on the side! You can then move on to the various platters consisting of quesadillas, tortillas, rellenos, and enchiladas – before moving on to the “Especialida desde La Casa” where your choices include various beef and pork cuts, chicken, surf & turf, and blue plate specials. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food was great [ * * * * ]. In my experience, the Greater Phoenix area is one of the better places for authentic Southwest cooking and Richardson’s would be at the top of my list. Reservations are recommended for the evening hours so keep that in mind. Richardson’s Dinner - 6335 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016-150 – (602) 265-5886. Also, they seemed to have lost their website so I’m not sure what that means but check out the one pager above…
